William Bradford Smith
William Bradford Smith is a curator and museum specialist with over 12 years of experience developing exhibitions, publications, and conservation programs. He previously served as a researcher at the Smithsonian Institution’s Department of Anthropology in Washington D.C. and is author of several publications on ethnography and cultural history, including: Great and Good Friends: Historic Gifts between the Kingdom of Thailand and the United States of America, 1818 –2018(2018), Turkmenistan: Arts from the Land of Magtymguly (2013), and Turkmenistan Ancient Arts Today (2011). Smith is a Fulbright grant recipient in Madagascar and Thailand developing museum programs and is recently managing a manuscript conservation project at the Institute of Manuscripts in Turkmenistan on behalf of the U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat. He is currently Chief Executive Officer for Merrion & Smith, a D.C. based non-profit that manages a portfolio of U.S. federal grants for cultural diplomacy.
