Nitin Govil is an associate professor of cinema and media studies at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. His research focuses on comparative cultural politics, with an emphasis on transnational media industries. He is the author of Orienting Hollywood: A Century of Film Culture between Los Angeles and Bombay (New York University Press, 2015), which examines the long history of connections between Hollywood and Bombay cinema. He is also the co-author of Global Hollywood (British Film Institute, 2001) and Global Hollywood 2 (British Film Institute, 2005).
