Laura Isabel Serna is an associate professor of history and cinema and media studies at the University of Southern California. She is the author of Making Cinelandia: American Films and Mexican Film Culture before the Golden Age (Duke University Press, 2014). Her current research focuses on the transnational dimensions of the Mexican film industry during the Golden Age.
