Kacey Hadick has over a decade of experience partnering with local communities for the preservation of cultural heritage. As the Director of Conservation Programs at CyArk, he works collaboratively with site managers to develop digital documentation projects that promote conservation or serve to educate the public through immersive place-based experiences. Over the past few years Hadick has collaborated with the U.S. Department of State and various embassies to provide training in 3D documentation and the production of digital storytelling experiences centered on cultural heritage preservation and public diplomacy. He has led workshops on 3D documentation techniques in the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America and Oceania and works to ensure that the digital products produced can be used by site managers to support decision making. Hadick is involved from initial site scoping to project completion and works to develop and refine CyArk's online and in-person workshop and capacity building programs. Hadick holds a masters degree in World Heritage and International Projects for Development from the University of Turin and a bachelor's degree in Anthropology. He is passionate about using technology to elevate underrepresented stories and his research interests include community development, virtual tourism, and 3D storytelling.
