This mural illustrates a typical day in a predominately Latin American neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. The flags strung between the two buildings represent Central American, South American, and Caribbean nations, signifying the multicultural heritage of the local residents. Asend’s portrayal of this multigenerational community showcases unifying cultural values, such as family, hard work, and music.

Asend is a Chicago-based artist and muralist. His artistic influences are rooted in graffiti culture, as well the Baroque period of 1600-1800’s. Asend brings an extensive mastery of color and composition to his large-scale murals, as well as his studio works in oil. Notable projects include Chicago's largest mural located downtown on the Kennedy Expressway and partnerships with Major League Baseball, Lambhorgini, and Pepsi. His work is often commissioned by private and commercial clients throughout the country, and has completed numerous mural projects overseas in Tahiti, Mongolia, China, and Bahrain.
